Journal Governance & Publishing Policies

1. Allegations of Misconduct Policy

IJGIS takes all allegations of research and publication misconduct seriously. We adhere strictly to the standards set by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

  • Scope of Misconduct: Misconduct includes, but is not limited to, data fabrication or falsification, plagiarism, redundant or duplicate publication, improper authorship attribution, undisclosed conflicts of interest, and breach of ethical standards in human/animal research.

  • Handling Procedure: When an allegation of misconduct is raised by a reviewer, author, reader, or automated detection tool (before or after publication):

    1. The Editor-in-Chief will conduct an initial assessment to evaluate the evidence.

    2. The author(s) or relevant parties will be contacted and given an opportunity to respond to the allegations.

    3. If necessary, an independent panel from the Editorial Board or the author's institution will be asked to investigate.

    4. If misconduct is substantiated, the journal will take appropriate actions, ranging from manuscript rejection to formal retractions, institutional notification, and bans on future submissions.

2. Appeals Process

Authors have the right to appeal editorial decisions (such as a rejection) if they believe the decision was based on a factual error, a misunderstanding of the technical content, or a procedural irregularity during peer review.

  • Criteria for Appeal: Appeals will only be considered if supported by new data, a detailed point-by-point rebuttal addressing reviewer comments, or clear evidence of reviewer bias/error. Rejections based on scope or editorial priority are generally not subject to appeal.

  • Submission Instructions: Submit a formal letter outlining the grounds for appeal within 30 days of receiving the decision notice.

  • Review Process: The appeal will be evaluated by an independent Associate Editor or Editorial Board member who was not involved in the original decision. Their decision is final.

3. Complaints Process

IJGIS is committed to resolving complaints regarding journal operations, staff conduct, editorial delays, or peer-review management promptly and constructively.

  • Scope of Complaints: Complaints may concern procedural delays, editorial communication, reviewer conduct, or journal management. (For decision appeals, see the Appeals Process above).

  • Submission Instructions: Send a written description of the complaint, including manuscript ID (if applicable), relevant dates, and supporting evidence.

  • Resolution Process: All complaints will be acknowledged within 3 business days. The Managing Editor will investigate the matter and provide a formal written response or resolution within 14 business days.

4. Corrections, Expressions of Concern, and Retractions Policy

To maintain the integrity of the academic record, IJGIS maintains clear protocols for amending or removing published content when errors or ethical violations occur.

  • Corrections (Erratum / Corrigendum):

    • Erratum: Used for significant errors introduced by the journal during production.

    • Corrigendum: Used for significant errors made by the authors (e.g., small errors in data, missing funding credits) that do not invalidate the overall scientific conclusions.

    • A formal correction notice will be published, hyperlinked to the original article.

  • Expressions of Concern: The journal may publish an Expression of Concern if an investigation into alleged misconduct or inconclusive research data is ongoing and could take significant time, or if an investigation is inconclusive.

  • Retractions: An article will be retracted if:

    • The findings are proven unreliable due to clear evidence of misconduct (e.g., data falsification) or honest major error.

    • The work constitutes plagiarism or redundant publication.

    • The research involves unethical or illegal research practices.

    • Retraction notices will explicitly state the reason for retraction and link to the original article, which will remain accessible marked clearly as "RETRACTED."

Advertising Policy

1. Statement of Non-Acceptance of Advertising (Recommended for Open-Access)

The International Journal of Global Innovations and Solutions (IJGIS) operates as a pure open-access scholarly publication dedicated to unbiased research. IJGIS does not accept commercial advertising of any kind on its website, within published article PDFs, or in print materials.

Editorial decisions, peer-review processes, and publication standards are completely independent of commercial influence and financial sponsorship.
